Location
The villas cluster is roughly 4 kms south of the north coast and 1 km from the village of Melidoni on a hillside below the entrance of the Gerontospilios cave.
The small town of Perama is 4 kms away, and the district capital of  Rethymnon is 30 kms away.
The nearest beautiful sandy beaches are at Bali (8 kms) and Panormo (10 kms).

All 5 holiday villas as well as the taverna's terraces enjoy views of the Kouloukonas mountains in the East, both of them being 1,078 meters high and roughly 10 kms away.
Even more impressive are however the views of the Ida mountains in the South. The five two-thousanders are just 18 kms away and are called (from left to right):
Koussakas (2,209 meters),
Vouloumenou (2,267 meters),
Angathias (2,424 meters),
Timios Stavros (2,456 meters) and
Stolistra (2,325 meters).

In the village of Melidoni there is a mini market, a baker's shop, a kiosk, kafenions and tavernas, and a gas station.
Shops of many kind are in Perama, as well as on the coast in the former fishing villages of Bali and Panormo where a relaxed type of tourism established.
Some good restaurants concentrate mainly in the village center and by the port of Panormo.

Iraklion airport is 56 kms away, Hania airport 93 kms.
With respect to the National Road's winding character, transfer durations from and to the airports must not be underestimated.
